SPS was slow (over 6 months!) to review and approve the short sale for HAFA program. BoA the second has had to extend the second approval. I am now told by BoA they will not give me any more extensions. To make matters worst the buyer walked...I am told by SPS that if a buyer walks SPS closes out the file and starts over from the beginning...This is ridiculous! Offer matches the approval letter and they can not do anything to speed the process! Anyone have any suggestions?

I was having problems, every time I would call SPS someone new would have to catch up with my short sale. There was a sewer lien by the Town and the attorneys for SPS were thinking that if they would do a  foreclosure the lien would not have to be be paid. So wrong, in CT this is consider a super lien and the attorney for the Town could do an Auction on the property.  Last week I came to Short Sale Superstars and noticed a number and email for their Ombudsman Department. It worked, I just got my approval yesterday. But I had to be firm and show that they were wrong. Thank you again. I have been using this website since 2007 when I started with short sales. It is great to be able to help each other.

I am having the same problem. . Bank of America keeps approving and extending the Jr. Lien approval, but SPS won't do an extension because the BPO is dated. . .they want to decline the file and start over. . . I don't know how many more extensions I can possibly get from Bank of America before decline the file. . .And this is a HAFA file with an offer well over BPO valuation . . Don't get it!
