Single family home in Pinellas County, Florida.  1st is Freddie Mac, serviced by Provident Funding.  2nd is with 3rd Federal. Both want cash to close.

  • Provident Funding - initially asked for $24,000 cash from seller, negotiated down to $3,500
  • 3rd Federal - initially asked for $100,000 cash from seller, negotiated down to $1,000
  • Provident offered $3,000 to 3rd Federal, they accepted.

Here's the problem:

Provident says Freddie Mac will not allow the 2nd lender to get more than $3,000. Period. They won't let the seller, the buyer, me...no one can contribute the $1,000 to 3rd Federal.  Of course, like most things 'short sale', this makes no sense. Freddie Mac is actually paying Provident for the privilege of shooting its own taxpayers in the foot.

WTW??

I've called Freddie Mac Borrower Outreach and left messages. I emailed [email protected] and they asked me to send in an LOA so they could talk to me about the homeowner's loan. I sent it; no response.

HELP! RUNNING OUT OF TIME! Those putzes at Provident are going to close the file.

Thanks,

Jennie Blackburn

Jennie, have you tried having a promissory note with the 2nd, if it was a short term note, it might fly w Freddie and the second.
