They dont have an extension that they are willing to give out. They will only transfer you. I have been trying for months to find an extension. Each underwriter have their own phone number with no extensions numbers all start with 214-441-????.
What is the extension to the short sale department? The one listed in the contacts is not correct. Also the second number listed is Horizon Mortgage
Happily, my short sale with Metlife closed, total time 3 months and a couple of days. It wasn't easy and foreclosure date was looming so I took measures to stop it and ultimately got short sale approval. Other reps in Metlife didn't seem to know too much, tho' some were helpful, my negotiator did return a few of my phone calls but didn't seem too interested in doing much on the file unless I pushed and pushed. Otherwise, yes, terribly slow and uninformed.
MetLife has got to be the absolute worst mortgage company out there. I've had my short sale going with them since March the appraisal was done in May and the file still has yet to be reviewed. I have escalated I cant say how many times. I get nothing but excuses and "there is a process we have to follow". I think the process includes.. do nothing, then do nothing.. oh and do nothing. I even have a loss mit specialist that I have been in contact with for a while and he has given the file to his supervisor three weeks ago and the supervisor hasnt even opened the file. If the supervisors aren't held accountable, then they are holding no one beneath them accountable what kind of system is it they have? Can anyone help me with some higher up's info? I dont know what else to do.
I need some help with a Metlife SS too. The 2nd lien holder First Horizon gave SS approval 12 days after receiving my package. Metlife has done nothing. Now they tell me they are waiting for a letter from First Horizon to verify the seller used to be an employee of theirs seven years ago when she quit before they can approve the SS, but we have a 6/7/12 foreclosure date coming up. I asked if they could push back that date and was told that they have new directives not to push back a foreclosure for a short sale because a short sale might not actually close. I reminded him that the buyers are waiting for approval so they can close. Who can I speak with over there at Metlife that can see the wisdom to close on this SS. It seems their goal is slam the foreclosure hammer down. I also involved Fannie Mae as Metlife never responded to the contract within 20 days of receipt nor to this point 48 days later though I have been in contact w/the neg./UW but to no avail. Any names or numbers??
Metlilfe has been slow, they asked me if I realized how backed up they were! I got Fannie Mae involved now it looks like things will move faster.
Congratulations Kevin on getting your SS closed on Mon. I was just trying to fax some info over to Metlife but the fax keeps getting cut off. Do they shut off their fax machines after 5:00? This is archaic, it is so much easier to scan and attach to an email to the negotiator.
The file closed on Monday. If it wasn't for the HUD rep stepping in and seeing ensuring we were dealt with properly, I don't know if this would have ever closed.
Kevin, thank you for your comment and response. I can only hope they respond once I send in the contract and etc. Hope your Monday closing went well. ALso hope Metlife will play nice, as you said.
Napua, I'm closing an FHA Metlife short sale on Monday. It took HUD nailing their butts to the wall to do their job but they did it. Hopefully Metlife will play nice now with future short sales.
