I posted this is on another forum but thought it would be better suited here, considering its through GMAC. I put an offer on a house a few months ago, it was accepted a week ago. The title company has completed their part, we are paying cash, and are not having an inspection.  But the realtor keeps saying that GMAC keeps sending documents to them for revision and they are getting them sent back, but there is no timeline for closing.  I was wondering if anyone here who has experience dealing with GMAC has any idea what we may be waiting for.  The realtor just keeps reassuring me everything is in motion and we should be able to close soon, with no real answer as to what we are actually waiting for. We are anxious to close, as are the sellers and we were told the bank wants to get it closed quickly so, I'm not sure what the problem is, but this waiting is worse than when we were waiting for the acceptance!

They are waiting on an Approval Letter. Cannot close without one no matter who gets all their side of the deal done first.

Thanks Pattilynn. I guess I never thought of that. When she said she received acceptance from GMAC I just assumed she received the acceptance letter, but perhaps it was just a verbal acceptance. If that is the case, typically how long after that would they provide the acceptance letter?
