We have an offer on a home at 182k the BPO was done on Monday. The negotiator just sent me a Final counter offer(this is the first one I have received) and it is for 212k. I called the BPO agent and she informed me that the BPO was done at the 182k. Who can I call to get this file escalated and out of the hands of the current negotiator who obviously does not care about closing this.

This Bank does not care to work with the short sales at all. I am working on a short sale since August 10th, 2010. Submitted another contract same buyer and the process started from the beginning. Is April 5th and the BPO was done on march 10th and there is no movement with the file. Try to escalate the process with a supervisor and she was saying that the process takes up to 90 days for the processor/negotiator to review the file and she said that there is no need to escalate it since is in that time frame. You have to fight with them and prepare your own CMA and show them that you are right on the price. But the thing is, you can not talk with the negotiator unless they call you. They never answer the phone. Good luck!
Anne, I did get an approval from them. I went online found the CEO's information and sent an email. Next thing I new the negotiator called me and had a counter offer. And you are right I had to prove the price. The strange thing is they did not want sold comps they wanted active comps to justify the price. When the negotiator countered me by fax it included her extension to her phone and she picks it up now when I call. That ninety day process you mentioned is what I was told from the negotiator herself and with an attitude I might ad is the way she told me. All I have to say is don't put up with there crap, they would not have a job at all if it was not for us(agents) taking short sale listings. Remind them of this when you get one with an attitude. Under the time lines she quoted I would not even have approval yet and the buyer would have walked by now. Now we are closing this Monday instead.
Jeff, do you care to share more information on who and how you contacted the CEO?  I would like to pass that info on to my agent.  I've had a contract on a First Horizon short sale since October 9, 2010.  Just now got a negotiator, still no BPO.  Supposedly it got escalated this week and we're told that by their own policies the BPO has to be ordered this week.  I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks for the response.  I actually have the approval now.  Once the negotiator was assigned (7 months after the package was submitted), I had an approval in about 30 days.
