I just got involved with one where the seller (borrower) has already been working with them.  This morning I requested their DRE license number - No response as yet......  They say they are a HUD Approved Counseling Center - BUT - they are also a lender and a Real Estate Brokerage,,,,,,, Their website is www.lanhs.org

 

I'll let you know if I learn anything new...

Thanks Thom but I think they are a different organization. This is the website from the one I'm dealing with http://nhsocaffordablehomes.org. This group does loans for the county. There are a number of HUD counseling groups who have real estate divisions. This group will give them back to you if a short sale is best NID Housing Counseling Agency
