Fannie Mae over timeframe short sales: 800-732-6643. They might be able to do something for you. Ask for a level 2 representative.

Matha, there requirements are 60-90 days from the date it was assigned. 9 times out of 10 it will go a LITTLE faster than that.

Lizette, there is a thread with a Fannie Mae email. Sorry I cant remember where it is on this site but they had much success in stopping foreclosures. What is Aurora telling you? They should be able to postpone the foreclosure as well.

Help,I have been in process with a shortsale with Aurora since Nov. They keep loosing my paperwork, now were down to the last minute and there countering me less than 48 hrs before a sale date. apparently they need to get fannie maes approval to extend the shortsale and they req. a minimum of 48 hours to do this , im out of time , does anyone have a contact at Fannie mae were I can call direclty ?

I heard Aurora will approve short sales around 4 - 5 weeks. My short sale offer has been with them over 6 weeks now. Can you share your experience?

Aurora is decent except they tell you (and their automated message) when you enter the loan number that they will review by a certain date and that date is about 6 months in the future. Its crazy. I tell them that it is impossible to keep my buyer waiting 6 months and they say, "oh, you have an offer?". I'm like "uh ya, its part of your requirement for review. Then they say, "oh yea, let me see if this is assigned."

I have just recieved my first one with Aurora. I pray everything runs smoothly.

Michael, they are conservative in their messaging up-front. Example, they told me they wouldn't even complete their initial review on one of my shorts until 1/11/10; and then we got the Approval Letter on 12/29/09.

The one that I have going on now seems simple enough, send in their SS package. That was on 10/15/2009. I am directed to go to myauroaloan.com to check the work out status. I have also called and thats were they send you. A little concerned because it states they will not have an answer until 2/24/2010. Thats over four months??? Yikes!

Very easy to work with. Had one accepted in 30 Days.

They are not allowed to tell you what the BPO came back at but you can ask them if the offer is within range and sometimes they will tell you net to BPO value. I suggest you ask different people when you call because they lie a lot. Also if ts a fannie or a fredie mac loan. Their min net is 0.82 of BPO value. You can get less approved but it will require escalation and time. If you want your short sales to be approved quickly I suggest you meet their net.
