Short sale file could close

So I thought our short sale was with investor but negotiator has been waiting for sellers agent to make changes to the HUD. Today is the last day for negotiator to receive these changes to be submitted to investor or file will close. First is with b of a. If the file closes what does that mean? We start all over? She's had ten business days to submit this new HUD so I'm frustrated. I am the buyer. I am about to walk but we want this house. Can someone give me insight on what happens when a file closes? Thank you!

    If it closes you can resubmit, but really, what has taken so long?  I'm assuming if she wants to sell then she would get her act together.  It'll be a pain to resubmit the file.  Do you have a buyer's agent involved?

      Yes we have an agent. I guess it got submitted today so I'm hoping he had time to review it, the deadline for the investor to receive the file is tomorrow. I don't know what took so long but it's extremely difficult to sit back and have no control over any of this. Hopefully it gets submitted ok. Thank you again for answering my questions. The idea of this file closing is so frustrating!!
