Will the banks pay the loss mitigation company's fee for processing the short sale?  Will they pay attorney fees for clients who want their attorney to review the closing statement?

Generally, no.

There was a company at the Short Sale Symposium at Sea last year who presented their services to do the short sale processing.  How do they get paid?

From the buyer, or from the agents.

Attorney fees will usually be paid, up to around $1500.  All negotiator or processing fees must be moved to buyer side.

Thanks for your response Joseph.  Some of our sellers are wanting their attorney to review documents especially if it's a divorce or bankruptcy situation.  The fee is usually only about $300-$600.  What is required to include it on the HUD1?  Invoice, etc.  Do you know if it can be paid on FHA short sales, what about Fannie or Freddie?
