I am working on a short sale where the first mortgage is serviced by Wells Fargo. The second loan has been recorded in 2005 with WMC Mortgage, and has not been assigned since then. The seller said the 2nd lien might also be with Wells Fargo. I've spoke to the WF home equity department, and they do not have the loan. I've even ran the sellers credit. Can anyone please let me know how I can find the current servicer of the junior lien besides calling every single loan servicing company out there??

Is there a MERS number? Have you spoken to their Recovery/Charge Off Department?

Yes, there is a MERS number. On the MERS servicer ID website, it shows Wells Fargo as Servicer and US Bank as investor, and I did speak to the Wells Fargo recovery/charge off department, and they did not find anything.
