Good morning!  I'm just hoping to get some ideas today.  We are in danger of losing our 4th buyer on this short sale, and we are getting NOWHERE with OCWEN.

Here's the scenario, in as much of a nutshell as I can make it.  We have a listing and it took us a number of months and a series of four buyers to finally get approval from the first.  During this time, we did receive an approval letter from the 2nd (OCWEN) to receive $2,000 (which was re-issued at least once).  We ended up having to get a full appraisal in order to convince the 1st that the current offer (which is cash!) truly reflects market value.  So, we got our approval from the first a couple weeks ago, and in the meantime, our approval from the 2nd had expired.  We sent in the new offer, proof of funds and HUD, and requested a new approval letter.

Since then, all we have gotten from OCWEN is acknowledgement of receipt, request for new this and that, request for a whole new package, etc.  We absolutely CANNOT get this escalated or even get in contact with anyone who knows ANYTHING. We get a different person every time we call, and each person tells us something different.  We have emailed with 'URGENT, ATTN SUPERVISOR, etc'. We are absolutely pulling our hair out at this point.  The deadline to close from the first bank is next week, and they said we could have an extra couple weeks, but now the buyer is getting really, really antsy and we're pretty sure we'll lose her very soon if we don't get this resolved.

Does anyone have any suggestions for us?  Anything we can try? Any experience getting things DONE with OCWEN, especially in 2nd position?  We will try anything at this point!  Thank you!!!

  • OK, so I posted this yesterday and woke up to an approval letter in my inbox!  WOW, pretty amazing timing ;-)
