Anyone know SPECIFICALLY what a:
"Signed Name Affidavit"
is? We are doing a GMAC second lien short sale on Equator and being asked for this item.
Negotiator (and her supervisor) are missing in action, the higher ups seem to have no clue what this is, and, the GMAC web site makes no mention of this?
Anyone have thoughts or feedback?

That was my best guess as well for the affidvait, likely what it is considering the circumstances:
Husband and wife, and, husband passed away recently (had a heart attack at only 28 years old, and, they have 2 kids)
One of the toughest phone calls I had to take....she wanted to know whether or not she should pay her mortage with the life ins. monies, which is not much for a stay at home mom....)
My "friends" at B of A (first lien older) actually had the AUDACITY to ask these quiestions of her:
How much were funeral expenses and did you incur travel expesnses for the funeral......
REALLY guys.....is this appropriate or neessary?
Anyway, just another day in the life.......
I will check with our attorney and title company to see if they have a doc. we can use....thanks for the feedback.
Ben, I think they may be referring to a basic name affidavit with all possible names that person has used

or something like that. I have seen these signed at closing on regular sales before, especially for women who may have used a maiden name at one time
