I'm working on a MetLife short sale with a FHA loan. I was starting to see the writing on the wall that there was probably a hard time ahead with the bank. Luckily I found your site and a posting by someone saying to contact FHA directly. I never would have thought of that on my own! They are easy to reach and helpful. They need the FHA case number from when the sellers purchased the home, along with an LOA, and they will issue a ticket #. They will contact the lender on your behalf to make sure they are following guidelines and timelines. I now think I have a shot at getting this closed!
