I have a home that was illegally foreclosed earlier this year (bk wasn't complete) and the loan then transferred from Ocwen to Freddie Mac/Homesteps. The home was listed with an REO agent but then tagged unmarketable and removed from the market. The title has since been reconveyed to the borrowers. SO, we still have a buyer that wants the property and the owners are still willing to do a short sale but I can't find the stinkin' loan. Ocwen says it's a Freddie Mac/Homesteps asset and I need to call them but FM/Homesteps says they don't show it in their system. Advice?
