In 2005 my husband and I bought a home, it appraised at 89.000 and we bought it for 80.000. It now appraises for 45.000
In 2010 I lost my job which left us less 55,600 a year. Since then my employment status remains the same. Zero. My husband works for the state of Florida as a Sgt Brevard County Corrections. In June of 2011 the state closed Brevard Corrections which is located on the East Coast. He was relocated with out assistance and without choice, to Ocala Fl. which is in Marion County SW from Brevard by 3 hours. He is now at Lowell Corrections. Well he could have turned it down but that would have left both of us jobless. My point. My husband drives to Ocala on Tuesday works through until Sat night. Sunday and Monday he comes home where we have lived for 26 years with our 3 daughters. . What he has to spend on gas is UN believable as well as rent housing in Ocala which cost him 890.00 a month. Sir/Madam, my husband brings home 1860.00 a month. A MONTH!Yes, that's all. Though grateful for what we do have, we have rent, gas, food, utilities, insurance etc, remembering the travel and rent for my husband to work in Ocala. Last June we became and remain behind on out mortgage with BOA. We just applied for a HAFA, where Prestige Title was helping us kindly with all the paperwork, leaving nothing out. We just got a call from BOA, the file was sent to Fanny Mae and they told us FM turned down the HAFA. I'm confused, I don't understand. My husband and I have worked for the government all our life, him being X Army and now working for the State. We don't know what to do at this point. Is there something else we can do or can you please reconsider the HAFA. BOA did say that the file would stay open for 24 - 48 hours.
Please help

Did they provide a reason why you were denied HAFA?
Fannie Mae's Reason was Debt Income Ratio, which there is no way. Gross Income is 2705 monthly, Debt is 3450, house appraises at 45, loan balance is 80,000. loan through BOA, of coarse Fannie Mae has the HAFA. Thanks Kevin!
any advise would be great.
