Hello,

I am having a meeting with an attorney tomorrow afternoon in arizona about our short sale and possible foreclosure and was starting a list of questions for him to discuss.  Was asking anyone out there if they have any good questions that maybe I'm not thinking of???

  • I think I would ask him who will be handling your file after you sign up.  I had a family member pay a lot of money to an attorney to do a loan modification, only to be handed off to the office staff.  They never spoke to the attorney again.   They never got their loan modification as they did not make enough money.

    I think I would ask how often you would be hearing from your attorney.  How easy will it be to speak to him once you pay him?  What experience has he had with your lender?  Has he been able to negotiate a short sale with no deficiency with your lender before?

    1. Deficiency
    2. Tax consequences
    3. Cash or promissory note requests
    4. Affidavits you will need to sign
