FHA/HUD approval with 12 days to close! WTH? Need HUD contact to escalate

So i just got an FHA short sale approved through the worlds greatest servicer Met Life (you should be laughing) after 4 months on churning in their system. Anyway they gave me until 9-12-2011 (see attached) to close this! When i asked my negotiator about it she said that it was HUDS decision to make the deadline that tight. Personally I call BS on that one.

I need a contact at HUD to escalate this file with yet again for some clarification. [email protected]

Thanks everyone!

I am now getting FHA short sales and they are done differently.  Don't think I like the process as much as the traditional short sales.  I am interested in a HUD contact too to find out if it is worth my filling a Variance in a sales price/value issue.

I still havent heard from the one contact I had at FHA or Met Life. Any other suggestions for FHA would really be appreciated!

Hi Travis,

There used to be a HUD rep on this site but, alas, he seems to have deleted his profile.  I would call the National Servicing Center (NSC): (877) 622-8525.  If Met Life has just issued a 900-45 (ATP), you should have 120 days to get and close an offer.  Although I don't see your attachment, I too call BS.  Call the NSC and get there opinion/input on the situation.

he won't give an extension? maybe the bpo is aging out or something. did you ask why? what was the response?
I have you beat, we got an approval with on Aug. 29 to close by 9/1 BUT thankfully the buyer's lender was ready and we did it on 9/1:)  It is just crazy what they expect when they can clearly see there is a loan involved!  Mine was with US Bank.....
