This isn't necessarily a short sale question but rather a bank question.
The bank recorded their loan against the wrong property. My client is buying a home which the sellers bought with cash (no loan). However, another property down the street got a loan and Wells Fargo recorded the Deed of Trust on the wrong property. They recorded it on the property which I'm selling.
How does one clear this up? Who would a person talk to at Wells Fargo?

You could start with the title co. that did the closing. Or just call Wells, and they'll direct you (maybe). Or, with your sellers title insurer, assuming they have one.
Unfortunately, it was a refinance and title was an in house Wells Fargo dept.
sounds like you need to start there. you may have to get a local real estate attorney to put some pressure on them to correct.
