Are any of the Georgia agents having challenges with Citimortgage as they start the short sale process? When I called to initiate the short sale, I was told that the homeowner had to call first to start the file. OK, fine... we did this. I also sent over my letter of authorization. It was received. When I called back, I was told that there is a new law in Georgia limiting my ability to talk to them without Power of Attorney. I was allowed one phone call at that time and then the homeowner would have to call back. I immediately called our attorneys to see if there was something that I missed but there is no such law in Georgia. We have no idea what they are referring to but I can not work a short sale without an ability to communicate with the bank nor can the homeowner be expected to call them every other day. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I get around it?
