Is there a group for American Home Mortgage? If not, is anyone currently doing a short sale with them or has anyone recently completed a transaction with them?
Thanks,
Tyra

I second Smitty's comments. I was told my file was sent to the MI company on 7/16 for approval. I received a counter via equator on 8/21. We accepted all terms of the counter within a half hour. No response from my negotiator. On 8/24, she said she needed to 'balance our calc sheet figures, loss analysis figures, and your figures.' and she would be submitting our file to the MI company for review. What? I thought this happened 7/16. She never returns calls. Email response is sporadic at best. Any advice? Anyone have any good contacts at AHMSI that may be able to help expedite a file? We are using Equator for this file.

Update on this file...Negotiator came back today 9/12 (almost 60 days after it was submitted to MI company for approval) and said the MI company cancelled their coverage, so we no longer need their approval. I guess that's good news, but how she didn't know this fact is beyond me. Now she has submitted the file for 'final review' but she won't tell me how long this will take. I don't see how she is adding any value to the process.
Since they've transitioned into equator it seems to be a lot smoother.

Have you noticed that all their transactions are processed via equator?

I think they are still accepting submissions not in equator for now, maybe its your preference for a while. I don't believe they require you to be reviewed for HAMP to be moved into HAFA. I've not faced that.
I can't say the same at all. Horrible negotiator, stupid forms that I can't sign and the had to redo the appraisal because the property was deemed land only!! I guess the first appraisal is no good. I started this say in MAY and have gotten NO WHERE..no one responds. I have one decent contact there and he responds every ONCE in a while.
I had one file that I submitted before they transitioned into equator and 8 months later still trying to get it closed, I submitted one via equator half way through the process and it is already closed. I guess it just depends who you get. Kody Shipley is the one who gets the file started and he's very helpful in getting things moved along. :/
Have done many with them. Currently have one now...what is your question? I used to love them. This latest transaction has changed my opinion a LOT though.

I think the group is under AHMSI
Great! Do you know if they require that you apply for HAMP before being considered for HAFA?
Is your latest transaction being processed via Equator?
