I have a short sale where (I believe) where I believe we are just waiting for out final letter for approval. We have a sale date of this friday may 10 and 10AM. I have been ansing the negotiator to request an etension for a couple of weeks with the under standing that we can't request one until within 14 days of the sale date. I am not getting an answer from him on this. He is processing the file and communicating but won't answer this question. I talked to BOA CS and they sent him an email telling him to request an extension last week. I send a message through equator to him and his team lead, and I call BOA CS again today who transferred me to his manager. I asked for escalatin several times, they are working diligently on the file, but no request for extension.
Does anyone have another suggestion?

800-Freddie .. They will require a Third Party Authorization, so be prepared.
BOFA just informed the listing agent today that they will not extend the auction date set for May 14, it was denied on 4/29
We must close by May 10th...........Crazy
talk to the bank's sale atty's office. They can be very sympathetic - I'm guessing that they don't want a negative reputation from agents and homeowners who live right there as opposed to being nasty people that just make big banks in far away places happy. I don't know that you are there yet. You don't even have the approval from BofA, and they can drag things out forever.
You need that approval, push hard to get it. I don't know that I would listen to you if you didn't have one, so I'm guessing that the bank's atty would just say, "Too bad, it is scheduled for 5/10", too. If you seemed to have your act together and had a real closing possibility, you are likely to find the atty misplacing the paperwork for a month.
Often there are state laws that penalize the bank for putting off sales, that is one reason that the bank isn't going to officially move the date.
email me [email protected] - got info I can share.
