Maybe that will tell you how old I am, as I think that was a saying from a 1960's TV program, but I feel I'm talking to someone from another planet . . . called Bank of America.

I got an approval letter from my BOA negotiator, but I needed more time as the approval from the 2nd was out of date and we had to send them a new package. After several emails and phone calls I got the following response:  "The closing agent will have to extend the date. At this point I have no control over the extension. Please advise the closing agent once you have submitted your final HUD."

Now how do I submit a final HUD if I don't have an extension for a new closing date?  Who is the closing agent . . . is that the title company or is there someone else at BOA I should be calling?  I call short sale support and I and they don't seem to know either.  I have written back to the negotiator and she just tells me to compete my final task and supply the settlement statement.  We have been working this short sale for 5 months now . . . I don't think I have it in me to start over again.  Are there any Martians out there that can help me . . . we are running out of time.

You need to log into Equator immediately and send a message to your negotiator & also CC (CTRL+Click) just above & to the left of where the subject line is, when you're "adding a message" in Equator,,,send also to the "Closing Agent", "Team Leader", "Manager", SVP, AVP.

The "Closing Agent" in Equator is NOT your title or escrow person, it is a BofA position. If your file is with a closing agent, this is the final person you're talking to.

Don't send in a final hud,,,you don't have one yet,,,you need an extension.

I'm going through the exact same thing today. I need an extension & I'm padding it, stating I need it til the 11th of June. Our issue is needing a spot approval & the HOA taking their sweet time in getting us back the forms we need.

If you don't get a response, send your exact same email, TWICE per day to the same people. What you're probably going to get back are replies stating "this person is out of the office, contact this other person for help" DO contact those other people until you get what you need. THE DARN EXTENSION!
My suggestion is to call. Ask the phone rep to send an email to your closing agent and ask for an extension. Have a closing date for them to work with when you are making a request. Sometimes sending too many messages in Equator clogs up the email box. You can always call and I believe calling helps out in closing issues.
See if the rep will tell you the closing agent assigned to your file. Hope and pray that Todd Daniels is your closing agent. Todd is wonderful.
Some of the time I feel like we are saying Earth to.............? Mars is closer than we are to anyone at BOA.
Oh how wonderful to get such a quick response. You guys are wonderful. I am on it . . . just needed to know what to do. Thanks so much!
OK I did that. No response yet. Also, how do I send the final HUD for approval. This is the certifed HUD they want to see 72 hours prior to closing. Is that my final task? I would think that task is for the signed HUD after closing . . . this part is not very clear.

I did call customer service and they said they could not give me the closers phone number and they could not email the closer themselves. They did give me his email address. I tried to call back to see if I could talk to someone else, but after waiting on the phone for 25 minutes they hung up on me. Did that to me yesterday as well. This does not sound like the new and improved Bank of America!
i just did this with my deal. i did send in an email to the closing agent asking for an extension, then was told to send a new settlemtn statement with the new date and new figures. i got a call one day later from my closing agent. he asked me if i wanted more than just two weeks? wow....considerate. he did say that any difference in the net to bofa would come from the sellers/buyer/agents.....so be prepared to kick in some dough. today i just got an ammended offer from them for my sellers to sign.

final closing HUD is not after you have signed, it has to come in 72 hours before closing. and make sure you get a confirmation from them they got it before you close.

That is so unfair. The reason we are asking for an extension is because we had to send in a new package to the 2nd mortgage since Bank of America took 7 months to make their decision. How do you work with a buyer who needs 45 days to get a loan and Bank of America who only gives us 30 days to close and then coordinate it so the 2nd mortgage has an acceptance at the same exact time? I have been working this short sale for a year now . . . they cut my commission so by the time I split it out to everyone that gets a piece of the pie, I will end up being able to make a partial car payment. I just want to give up, but then I look at the seller who is a firefighter with 3 kids. He tried to do a short sale with another agent who never did anything after having the listing for a year. I guess I am just a sucker for firefighters?
