This forum has been such a great help to me - I wanted to share with everyone a couple of tips that others might find useful when working with OCWEN.  The first tip that was useful was - in order to avoid speaking to India, press the button for Spanish.  You may have to start hitting different numbers if you don't speak spanish - but eventually you will end up with someone in the US.  It makes communication a little easier.  Second, I received letters with confusing information.  For example, they started out saying that the investor does not allow short sales.  After I spent days on the phone, I finally contacted Joanne Perez who checked and said that it was really because my Seller was not more than 30 days behind in payments!  Basically, part of the message was correct - they don't allow short sales...unless you are more than 30 days behind.  So if a letter doesn't make sense - keep calling until you figure out what it is that they really want.  Finally, if you really can't resolve an issue, go ahead and escalate...but I would try to get issues resolved through the normal process before I escalated.  Once I exhausted all other options - I found that Joanne Perez was very helpful to get my short sale through the process.  We had a first and second loan with OCWEN - and the whole process took a little over 4 months to get final approval. It was very painful but at least we had a good outcome for everyone.   Good luck!

THANK YOU so much for this info... I am just starting with Ocwen!

I have been waiting to get a $20,000 dollar short sale approved with Ocwen for six weeks. Called today and was told they would set me up for a call on March 5th with a relationship manager. But they are still reviewing the offer....Go figure. This is a CASH buyer and this is my second submission of this offer. Do you suggest I move to escalating this with another contact mentioned in previous threads in this group?? by the way there was a sale date scheduled for Feb.7th which they postponed till next month....  Why is it taking all this reviewing??

Setting you up with a call - that is their standard response.  When you get on the phone on 3/5 with the relationship manager, you will probably not get any answers as it seems these calls are just to see if your seller can do a loan modification and are not really designed to give us any answers or status updates.  If you are not getting anywhere through the regular channels, and if you have submitted the offer twice - it might be time to drop an email to Joanne Perez.  Just give her the loan number and see if she can give you a status update.  Just state that you have not been able to find out what is going on through calling the main number and that foreclosure is coming!  Keep your message short.  She is very good and will probably ask someone else to contact you.  After you send the email, wait a couple of days to see if you get a response.  If not, try to call her if you don't hear anything after a couple of days.  Unfortunately, OCWEN moves at a slow pace and 6 weeks really isn't that long to wait for an approval.  It may not matter whether it is a cash offer as they still have to look at the documentation and make a decision about approval.  My approval took almost 5 months but we were not in a foreclosure situation yet.  Hang in there.  Good luck!

Thank you for the response, this does give me some guidance.....Is there an email contact for Joanne Perez? How would I find her info?

Thank you Lauren for all of your helpful insight. We have 2 Ocwen files and have been beating our heads against the wall on both for months. Do you have a direct phone # for Joanne Perez?
