Jean, I agree with Harry.  Nationstar probably bought this note for pennies on the dollar and may make money in foreclosure.  Push thru to Nationstar and see if they will pick up where you left off on the last one.  I had a similar situation with BBandT and Selene and got approval fast.  My guess is because I had an offer that would net Selene over 200K and they probably bought the note for 1/3 of that.

I can't speak for Nationstar, never dealt with them....

I think it means there is a very strong possibility that, for whatever reason, Met Life viewed your file unfavorably, & therefore dumped it to Nationstar as a liquidator, who will probably make more $ by foreclosing & collecting on the insurance rather than cooperating with you on the short sale.

I experienced this exact scenario last December, & Nationstar lied & stiff armed us all the way to the Trustee Sale, after CitiMortgage had previously lead us to believe approval was imminent, before surprising us with the notification that the paper had been sold, after more than 2 months of negotiations & financial update requests that were always promptly supplied.

We were never given a counter offer, despite a motivated & qualified buyer, & the Nationstar "negotiator" repeatedly lied & denied the Trustee Sale was even scheduled, right up to the last day, even though we had the NTS in our hand.

Please keep us informed of how your transaction pans out; I certainly would be interested to know.

But in my experience, the file getting sold to Nationstar @ this late date is the kiss of death.

I hope you can prove me wrong.

    Thanks Harry   :(

You are going to need their financial form ask me how I know that one.

Check with NationStar group and get them. I turned in a pkg that had just been xfered to them with the latest of all docs and they stated that the financial and some other docs had to be on their forms. It is an FHA so maybe thats why, don't know but I give them what they want...

I had a file with Met Life/First Horizons and followed it all the way to within a couple of weeks of closing.  They told me that the file was all set to forward to the MI company and then she said "this file will have to close with another company".  I'm now with NationStar and I'm being told that none of my documents came with the file and I'm now having to uploaded everything, again.  She has told me that she will push it through once she has all of the documents.  It's been my experience, since doing short sales since 2008, that you can't do too thinking about this stuff.  If you want to get it closed, keep on grinding.  Keep going and you'll close it.

Just closed on this one.  Two years.  1 year with Met Life and 1 year with NationStar

Thanks Kevin !!

He's right.  They  just told me that the financials need to be on their forms.  I'm working on that now.
