I have no problem getting through to customer service, but when they transfer me to the SS dept I have yet to get through.  I have waited for hours on end.

Anybody able to get through to the SS dept consistantly?  If so, what time if day is best, and how do you do it?

Thanks

Paul,
You have to just hold, I read on the active rain blog about agents holding up to 6 hours to get through. The seller on the short I have with IBM right now calls more then I do and even her being the borrower will generally wait 2 or more hours just to talk to the short sale department. Good Luck with it.
Thank you very much Jeff. An IBM rep just told me that they just took on 500,000 loans recently, so this long wait makes sense.

I usually get through in about 2 to 3 hours when I call in the mid afternoon (EST). Just put them on speaker and go about your business. I have found in general that once they do pick up you can get half way decent info, unlike the gatekeepers who don't seem to have a clue.
Hi. I am in California. I call at 5:00 - 6:00 am PST. I have found that if you can get them when they open, the hold time is about 15 minutes or so. They are usually pretty helpful, as they have not been yelled at yet...lol.

It's tough to get anyone in the SS dept on the phone.  My normal hold time was 2 hours.    I finally closed my deal with them after 6 months.   We got the approval letter with 11 days to close.  And we pulled it off.  Buyers were financed too.    I spent hours on the phone to get an extension but they said we would have to start over from scratch and would not honor it.  The whole exeperince with them was terrible.   So lucky that the buyer waited the 6 months for the approval and was able to get a loan together in 11 days.
