I have listed a short sale in CA for a home and received an offer which I am going to submit to Ocwen.  I spoke with their relationship management department today and they advised my of everything they will need for the short sale.  They also set up an appointment for a relationship manager to call me an update on the file once everything is received and reviewed.  About an hour later I received a call from Altisource telling me they got info from their preservation contract asking if I or my company was preserving the property so they can proceed as needed on this property.  I called back and left a message returning the call, but I'm wondering if I should or need to cooperate with this company.  Any advice or similar circumstances?

As far as I know - Altisource is a part of Ocwen somehow - when my home was in the process of being sold - they unilaterally came in and posted notices that they were to be monitoring and overseeing the house for Ocwen.  I was still paying the utilities and still had belongings in the home - in addition to the fact that my adult children were still in and out of the house regularly.  They "broke into" the home (police report filed) ... changed the locks (damaging the doors) and winterized my home with  NO advance notice to me or the realtor.  I dont trust them anymore than I trust Ocwen.

Thank you!

Altisource and Ocwen are one and the same

Thanks!
