Hello I am new here and have a question. We are the buyers on a SS that we started in January. The sellers already had SS approval for the home. We placed an offer and Chase sent it off to the investor. The investor countered and we accepted the offer. We have preapproval on the loan and are just waiting for final approval. It has now been 35 days since we accepted the counter from the investor, are we close? Im starting to get impatient lol. Thank you for any input.

hello. there is really no such animal as the seller's already had bank approval (HAFA SSN and the like aren't worth the paper they are written on). the short sale process is fluid up and sometimes past closing.
there is not much you can do as a buyer expect to push on your agent and whomever maybe handling the short sale.
Kevin said it best - I'll just add, it depends on who the investor is. For example, if it's Deutsche Bank, it may never be truly approved or close.
Best of luck!
