I'm getting the same response from OCWEN.... who is making it mandatory to use Altisource HUBZU auction house. Few questions:
1. How can the OCWEN mandate who the buyer uses to sell their home?
2. All parties sign an arms length transaction document AND it's listed on the MLS and Internet.
3. Altisource is TAKING 1% of the commission dollars offered by the bank.... seems like a conspiracy.
4. Isn't there something legally wrong about that? In CT, commissions are protected. Has to go to the real estate agents and/or buyer / seller part of the transaction. Is this even legal for them to require that my buyer use their services and then dip into my commission to pay for it?

Well I sent a letter to Nation Star Advising that what they are doing is not right and listed a few bullet points including what I gathered from this site and guess what they called me and demanded that we sign or they decline and sure enough they declined the short sale-- I called HUD cannot help me because the loan is not FHA, I will be reaching out to the AG office to see what else can be done; this is what it comes down to I guess they can't give baloney loans any longer so they came up with a whole new way to rip people off!
Go to the investor directly and file a complaint. I would also file a complaint with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau and the state AG office. And make sure that Nationstar is aware that you are taking this steps.
