I didn't realize he is in the military. I would think that he HAS to sell his home then and that he can't have a foreclosure or he will lose his job or rank. correct me if I am wrong.
OK, I can see his point. He is reassigned by his company (the government). His house is upside down. He must sell it.
The issue is that the bank is NOT asking for his INCOME information it is asking for access to his IRS files and TAX information. This is not really acceptable to begin with in my opinion. I dont think this form should be used or mandated in any case...but that is my opionion.
Signing a release to address your IRS files directly is not a good thing for anyone to have to do for any reason. It kind of makes me sick to think a guy like this is being forced to sign a document releasing personal information that even a BK court does not mandate!!!!
As to Shiela's statement, under current credit reporting pracctices it will make no difference whether his credit report shows a BK or a foreclosure or a short sale...his credit takes the same hit for almost as long in each case. he will still have issues with job and rank if that is used against him in his job at all.
No win for him. I can understand why he does not care to give rights to anyone to his IRS files. I can understand why a private entity should nto be allowed to even ask legally speaking.
