I recently initiated my first short sale with Ocwen.  Unfortunately, the borrower/seller dragged their feet in deciding to do a short sale and the foreclosure/auction is only 30 days out.  The negotiator I spoke to yesterday stressed to me that they "never" postponed foreclosure dates.  I am concerned that they will not be able to process the file in time for us to close escrow before the auction date.  Has anyone anyone received a postponement from Ocwen?  I was very surprised to hear from their negotiator that they "never" do this!  It seems to me that would be a decision for the investor, not the processor.

That's correct - They LOVE to FORECLOSE !!

I think Ocwen is correct in saying they will not postpone foreclosure dates. You can have an attorney ask the court to postpone per pending short sale but your odds of getting Ocwen to agree  to it are near nil (I think).

Thank you Kevin... that was exactly what I was looking for.

This is probably all very true, however, I have a file with Ocwen right now where they discovered that GMAC had foreclosed last Fall "in error" - yup, they foreclosed on disabled Veteran.  So now, the foreclosure has been re-opened and the status remains "TO BE CONTINUED".  So far, they have postponed the sale date twice, so I believe they have it in them.  I think they may consider postponing if they perceive they may have a liability on their hands otherwise.
