Hello-

Does anyone have a direct contact for the Seterus HAFA specialist? The customer service/ loss mitt reps will not let me through to this person and I have 3 conflicting opinions/ excuses from them as to why I cannot apply for HAFA for this particular borrower despite it being a no-brainer.

Thank You!

I don't believe Seterus is a HAFA participant.

They do. I get the impression that while they do they don't like to.

Hmmm.  I can't find any information on the Treasury Dept. website (or anywhere else) pertaining to their HAFA participation http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/for-partners/understanding-guid....

If you have conflicting information (which it sounds like you do), I would appreciate it.

If it is a Fannie Mae loan - don't they have to participate?  I thought I saw on the Clairfire Community page they have that they do participate with HAFA.

To use Clarifire Community, please have the customer register and complete the authorization process at:  https://seterus.clarifirecommunity.com

yes, they are.

To be clear - i was just assigned a file by Seterus - whom i have not dealt with before ? this is a legit servicer yes ?

realize they may have issues like others - see a lot of STUFF about them but wanted to check in here

thanks

Tim

Seterus does participate in HAFA.. I just closed on HAFA with them last week, though originally was informed the borrower does not qualify for HAFA, and when I emailed the negotiator.. the requirements from the govt HAFA website.. He agreed...

Shawn.. has your file being assigned to a negotiator.? If yes just ask for the name of the negotiator and send email to him/her regarding borrower qualifying for HAFA.

if the offer on a short sale is good enough and there is a genuine hardship the seller will be able to get relocation money and the deficiency waiver on a 'regular' short sale. Was there more on a hafa that those 2 benefits do not provide? I hardly deal with them.

They have 1 hafa person in the entire company. I have a client who has been trying to be put on a HAFA track for weeks. Each time they send out 10+ form letters saying not accepted for irrelevant reasons. Submit with an offer if GSE. They will have no option but to review and respond in 30 days.

I think the bulk of Seterus servicing portfolio is in Non-Deficiency states making HAFA unnecessary for the most part.

If it is a Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac loan they do have a help desk - I have gotten responses from Lenders when contacted FNMA or FDMAC direct. Many MLS systems access the help desk directly.
