Has anyone ever gotten short sale approval from GMAC in less than 7 biz days?

We have two business days before the foreclosure sale date of Weds, 10/3/2012 - I got two offers in yesterday and am waiting for seller's financial package - she's working a stretch of long days and she'll have it to me by tomorrow.  Everyone I've spoken to at GMAC including Sherry Hegenbarth | Executive Office says they will not stop the foreclosure even with an offer if they don't have a full 7 business days to review the package.  And that since that window has passed, SOL, no postponement…See More

Short sale using fire insurance proceeds?

I've been working a short sale since Jan with a first (GMAC) and a second (Chase) which was set to close last Weds.  But Tues the home burned down in the Colorado Springs firestorm. The purchase price we had was $265,000 with the first getting $233k and the second getting $5k - all approved and ready to go. FC sale date is 9/26. My question is has anyone ever had a successful short sale using insurance proceeds to short the lenders? The proceeds at $277k are more than the purchase price we had…See More

Need Recovery Department help

This is a HELOC where the seller is deceased and we have a Personal Representative standing in for her.  We received 1st approval from GMAC on 5/16/2012 where they agreed to pay 10% on a $48k loan balance.  The file is in the Recovery Dept because it was charged off a couple of months ago.  I learned from the Recovery Dept on Friday that the file would be outsourced because they discovered it is in probate and so I was told to wait for their call in the next 3 days.  I followed up today and…See More
