I am sure everyone got this mass email from Equator, asking agents to get "certified"....   Have you?  If so, do you find any benefit?

Wendy,

I got the short sale certification simply because it was "new" and I figured it was worth the risk. With the HAFA pre-approved short sales, there may be a chance. But so Far nothing. They did offer a nice equator short sale training program that is helpful to the first time Equator user. No free Tshirt and no listings, yet.

Best,

Clayton
Hi Wendy. I just started a similar discussion but later found this thread; oops. I get BPOs (infrequently) and have obtained one REO listing in 3 years but I have not paid for their Silver, Gold, or Platinum level certifications. Seems like the consensus is not to waste the money though on these distinctions.
Had a very interesting call wtih Equator and they refused to give any statistics regarding how many REO listings agents who purchase the $499 "certification" actually get. All they say is "results may vary" blah, blah, blah. If results for agents were good, then Equator would proudly tell the world those statistics. If it actually helped realtors get listings, Equator would say, "85% of platinum certified REO agents get a listing in the first month" or something like that. Do the research. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
