Military Seller wants to come back current prior to close - SS Approved

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had this happen before, and if so, what was the outcome.

Military seller.  Concerned about his credit score due to clearances.  Has investment property from prior to joining military but now needs to sell it.  Nationstar/Investor denies 1st attempt because seller "is still current and investor won't allow SS if seller is current."  2nd attempt, he misses 2 payments and SS approved 30 days after package re-submitted.  He now wants to catch up on those missed payments to save his credit score a bit and not jeopardize his Clearance for work.  My concern is that if he gets back to current, they will rescind the approval letter.  Anyone seen this before?

Thanks!

I think he is just going to have to bite the bullet if he wants to do a short sale.  Bringing the account current will definitely cause the bank to rethink allowing a short sale.  I imagine that since he is a Federal employee, he has security clearance to be concerned about.  I have sold homes of other federal employees and they are ok once they short sale.  It is when they are foreclosed that it gets ugly.  If he wants to bring current and drop the short sale then that's a different story and he can surely do that too.

Not being of the military I can not address which department or who to go to, I had clearances in aerospace and know that if I had such a problem there were departments to discuss this with to assure compliances and not have issues in the future.

He should contact the departments that issue, renew his clearances. Credit score is ONLY a small part of clearances.  His background has already been checked and the higher the clearance the higher the cost to do so.  The issue that they are mostly concerned with is heavy debt loads and bad judgment that caused it.  In this real estate value crisis I would think that relieving one's self of a debt responsibility (release of deficiency) and responsiblity of ownership with below par value property would not be looked at as a negative in the extreme.

I would also think that this is happening to a great extent throughour the military, just as in any other sector of the population.  I am certain that there are military benefit groups that can create the direct contact to answer his concerns.  Also in asking the proper group it will show responsibility level and his concern. This would not be a negative either.
