I have a short sale with Seterus that involves Fannie Mae loan.  My borrower went through their online third party authorization process in February and I received an e-mail invitation.  I registered with Clarifire using the invitation code and uploaded all the documents.  No response from Seterus.

I then followed up with a fax and no response.  I then found out that they rejected the third party authorization that I had sent in with my fax because it was not dated.  I had to explain that the missing date was entirely irrelevant because I had already been authorized through their online process and I only sent it the generic signed LOA because I had not received an acknowledgement of receipt for the short sale that was submitted through Clarifire and I had a feeling that there was a disconnect between Seterus and Clarifire.  The rep then confirmed that I had been authorized and she apologized for the rejection of the undated LOA.  I was told that Seterus had no access to any of the documents that I uploaded to Clarifire.  Say what?  The Seterus rep acted like she had no idea why it was even possible to upload documents.  She did not know what the purpose of Clarifire was.

Bottom line is.  Don't use Clarifire.  It's useless and only a waste of time.  If you want Seterus to act on the short sale, fax the whole package to 877-649-0743 and call 888-917-6004 to follow up

I faxed the short sale package last night and my seller received the following e-mail this morning:

"We have received a fax pertaining to your loan.  The details are in your Seterus Secure Inbox.   We encourage you to periodically check your Seterus Secure Inbox, accessible by logging onto the Seterus website.  If you believe you have received this message in error, please call us at 866.570.5277."

While it's nice they notified the borrower that they received the fax, it would be even nicer if they had done the same for me.  I logged into my Clarifire account to see if there were any messages for me.  Nothing.  It's really utterly useless and I can only repeat, don't use Clarifire!!!
