HSBC Commission
I just received my Short Sale approval from HSBC
In the beginning of the process they said ..
Commission as follows 6% if there are 2 agents from different offices
5% if there are 2 agents in my office
4% if I represent both sides
The deal is with another agent in my office and the approval letter that just came has 4% They said that the original person that I was dealing with should not have been handling the file . I have contacted them several times and usually they respond right away Not in this case What is your suggestions and experience Thank you in advance Jeannie

I just had this happen too - I am on the buyers side. The Listing Agent tried and tried to dispute this as our office has over 300 agents in it - but they would not let go. So we have to split the 4% also. Very frustrating from an agents point of view. However I am happy we got the approval letter and the buyers are getting the house they want. Just wish HSBC would revise this policy.
Did you ever get anywhere Jeannie?
I spoke with HSBC today and they said:
- 3% if the same agent represents both sides
- 4% if the same office represents both sides
- 5% if their are two separate offices.
Can anyone confirm a recent 6%? ..
I assume you are representing as a dual agent. Anyone tried using transaction brokerage if you are representing both sides or both sides in the same office?
