We have been trying for 5 months to get AMS/BOA to redo our BPO because it was too high. We protested with comps, repair list, comments from showings, and even an inspection report from a buyer who pulled out. The last offer was turned down because it was too low..even though the BPO was over 4 months old. Our HAFA contract expired and the only option we were told we had was DIL.....no extensions allowed.

In a last ditch effort and with very low expectations, I decided to try to contact BOA through twitter. I read on the BOA discussion that some people were having success getting help.....

That night I got a response and inquiry about the best time to CALL ME. Daryl CALLED me the next night at the requested time but I missed him. He tried again at the same time the next night. He LISTENED to my long disastrous story of trying to sell me house through HAFA and my complete lack of faith in his ability to help me.  However, to my complete surprise someone from AMS HAFA ESCALATIONS dept.(yes, there actually is one). She said she was going to try to get me an extension on my HAFA contract from Freddie Mac. I told her I didn't need one unless they would order another BPO because ours was too high and expired in April. She agreed to order a new one....It was done early the next week.

Last week, we found out the new BPO came in at $56,000 less than the original BPO and Freddi Mac granted us an extension on our HAFA contract until Oct.7.  We also got a very workable purchase contract :-)

So yes.....FREDDI MAC WILL GIVE EXTENSIONS ON HAFA CONTRACTS AND AMS WILL ORDER NEW BPO'S after the old one expires in four months.

So don't give up....just keep pushing....We have been going through the HAFA program since we applied in Sept. 2010. Not one thing has gone right or been easy. I have complained numerous times to AMS, BOA, BOA president's office, Freddi Mac, and the hampadmin escalations.  Ironically, it was me contacting BOA through their Twitter team that got results. I also had someone working with me through the escalations@hampadmin    I believe he may have helped me get the Freddie Mac HAFA extension.
