Long story short, after fighting with Chase for months they finally approved the short sale. But left in deficiency language and said investor would not allow other. Of course being Freddie I know that to not be true and I contacted Freddie.

FM told me no problem they will take care of it, give them 2 weeks. i told them we have a foreclosure date and expiration date on letter coming up. They pushed out the foreclosure date, but yesterday was expiration date on letter. Chase negotiator told me to bad to sad. He is upset I went around him to Freddie.

Will Freddie tell them to just issue a new letter or do I really need to resubmit and start from scratch like Chase is telling me

get teh anem of your negotiator's supervisor and make CERTAIN he/she is sent a "cc" on any e-mail correspondence just in case things get pissy....seems that is the road this is headed down.

negotiator's do tend to get irritated when you go around them, BUT< if they would just do their jobs and go to bat for us we would not need to do this.

I would start by sending him some type of apology:

"......my broker suggested I get in touch with Freddie......he said your ahnds were probably tied as far as decisios...."

something like that to save face and keep him/her on your side will work!!!!

Keep fighting!!!
In spite of the perceived animosity the negotiator has, you do need to maintain a professional relationship. Freddie may not intervene but if "end of month" is near a supervisor on up may do it. Escalate and keep going.

Meanwhile, you always need to do your housekeeping...keeping the buyer & seller in the loop and getting an extension to your letter, etc. If the negotiator refuses you, have the company closing the deal ask for an extension. They need to give a valid reason other than your slipping in the back door to talk to Fredie.
One point you can make with the negotiator is that FM, HIS investor asked for a 2 wk delay, not you. Is he sure he cannot accommodate his investor? "I want to make this as easy as possible but this had to be done, would it help if I get FM to give you a call on this? I'd be glad to take the time to discuss this issue with them - they were really nice and seemed quite understanding....." Polite, sweet, trying to help, don't want him to be put out, asking to run around and do anything you can to help HIM out. At the same time, how? By talking to his company's boss - to discuss that this pinhead negotiator doesn't care that FM asked for 2 wks and he wants to cost FM the deal and the payment by killing it BECAUSE FM asked for the 2 wks, etc. A sweet double edged sword... And you couldn't be more helpful, right?
@Dean - would you share your Freddie contact with me? I am having the same problem with Chase. They wouldnt remove the deficiency "PER FREDDIE" and in CA if it goes to trustee sale, there is no deficiency to the seller. If I can get the language removed, we can more forward. Thanks in advance!
