I have a contract with BB&T on a short sale and is supposed to settle in a few days. The buyer’s lender requested IRS transcripts for tax returns and basically the IRS lost the Fed tax return for one of the years. They went and filed again, had it stamped, but now we need to wait for the transcripts to process and obtain transcripts for the buyer’s lender. IRS indicated this will take 6-8 weeks. (Hopefully). So, my questions is has anyone requested and extension and how did it go?
