What if a tenant has been renting a home for 10 years when the owner decides to stop paying the mortgage company and moves to Bermuda, can the tenant purchase the property if the seller agrees to do a short sale? Will the bank (GreenTree) allow this? Can the Tenant get relocation assistance?
Short Sales can and have been declined because of who the purchaser is.
Arm's Length is not the only reason the will decline a Buyer where if the Offer was the same they would have Approved the transaction with another Buyer. There have been many examples on this Board of such things. Some of these have had nothing to do with whether or not the Buyer was otherwise qualified to purchase.
