Does anyone know if the Short Sale Commander program advertised on the Short Sale Superstar site is secure? None of the links show it being secure (with https: in front of the link).

We upload SS#, names, address, account #'s, etc., so that is a big concern.

I noticed it when signing up for the free trail. My password is not even encrypted and you can read all the software code.

Thank you.

Hi Nancy. Very good question. I don't know the answer so have sent your question over to the developers to answer. I'll get back with you as soon as they respond.

Nancy,

That is a great question and am anxious to hear what they say because I have been using it for a little while now. I actually really like it and I think with a little more development I will be able to get rid of my other contact manager and run all my business through it.

We have all the client data stored, backed up and mirror imaged in two separate secure locations on our own dedicated servers. Commander has numerous firewalls and has all client information behind the DMZ to further protect the data.  The only information our users have access to is the data they enter and choose to share with other users on their license.  We have our SSL Certificate and the https:// will be live for our customers in the next couple of days.

The passwords are stored on the server behind the DMZ.  We chose not to directly encrypt the password because they are secure already, as well as it's much faster to support our clients if they forget their password.

The code you see is just the HTML & Javascript code (front end), as is with any website.  No one can access the data engine that processes and stores the data.

I hope this helps!
