National Mortgage Debt Relief Act "under contract" deadline

Does anyone know if there is a deadline for short sales to be under contract by, to still qualify for the NMDR? It looks like it is going to expire on 12/31. I've heard nothing about a renewal. And it might have been my imagination, but I thought I heard that any sale under contract by 12/15, would still qualify. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My understanding is the short sale transaction must Close prior to 12-31-13, just like it was for 2012.

I believe the under contract by 12-15-13, and close by 09-2014, is HAFA.
