Bryant, I am a CDPE advanced member and will continue to be one at least for the foreseeable future. I do like the marketing material they produce for its advanced membership but I must admit that I by far learn a lot more from the forum here at Short Sale Superstars. There is more interaction and information shared in this forum. Thanks for this!

I too am a CDPE advanced member. It serves it's purpose.

Thank you, Julissa!

I am a CDPE, CSSP and SFR as well but I learn a great deal more from the short sale forum here. In my case, it has been difficult somewhat to justify the monthly fee that goes with being an advanced member of CDPE.

Can someone forward  to me a  good sample email that I could send to other agents (in my zip code) who hate short sales in to refer these clients to me for a handsome referral fee. I do believe agent referral to be a good source for lead generation.

I'm neither CDPE or CSSP, but started doing short sale in 2007 and closing them successfully.. I learn a lot from this website.. I'm not willing to part with my money for  all these alphabet accolades.. I see lots of agent in my market with all these alphabet and closing noting... Training is good, but not the magic to success...

CDPE has a place....as does this group....they compliment each other...training is essential to success...discussion compliments it...no need to throw sand when building castles is more productive.

Wonderfully said!

The question that begs to be answered is: Are we working for the Investors or are we working for the sellers.  Oh, duh...IF you take what these credentials are teaching you to the letter, then you are working for the Investor and not in your client's best interests.  Last time I checked, we are working for the seller and the Investor's interests are secondary.  Am I advocating that we ignore fair market prices and the basic tenents of a fair transaction, no...These credentials exist to control (if only in the least) the Bank's/Investor's overall outcome.  While this may not be an overall negative, there is still an influence for the Investor's financial benefit. Having been in the Banking industry for way too long, I speak from experience.  I have an SFR designation because this is recognized by CAR and NAR and I thought that it was a bit one sided to the Investor.  There isn't anthing that I have seen from the CDPE designation that isn't already being offered or available here.  Maybe if you are coming into this industry with no prior experience, but from everything that I have seen, it is just another hand looking for your hard earned money.  Bravo Wendy and Brian for creating such a valuable resource available to all!
