BOA/NCCI - waiting in my homeowners driveway - FREAKED THEM OUT

I had not heard nor dealt with NCCI before, but I got an angry email this morning from a homeowner.  Husband is BS!!  Wife went shopping with 4 y.o daughter and came home to a suspicious car in the driveway and a guy waiting inside.  He got out and started asking if they had considered refinancing.  These clients are FHA clients who are about one week out from likely getting an ATP.  They were approved for a loan mod but have to move for work, so turned down the mod and opted for the short sale.  Just yesterday the contact person at BOA for FHA said she suspected the ATP will be issued within the week.  He kept questioning the wife and she asked him to leave.  He handed her the attached letter and left: - SHE was really freaked out.

"Dear XXX,

BOA wants to help you avoid foreclosure.  We recently sent a representative from NCCI to your home to obtain information required to evaluate your loan for foreclosure alternatives.  Since you have not provided the required information, the NCCI representative will not attempt another visit.  Without the requested information, we are not able to complete a review of your loan for foreclosure alternative options that might help you stay in your home or avoid foreclosure.

If you would like to provide the require documents that may help you stay in your home or avoid foreclosure, it is important to fax them in the next 10 days to XXXX Please include your name

Bah blah bla

I know some areas that this type of thing will end in gunshots

None of this is making me feel any better.
UNREAL. Horrible for BofA to do this.

What occurred with your client is probably related to this Settlement with HUD -

My client just received a similar letter yesterday.  I am investigating with BofA but it looks like a scam as they cut/pasted the homeowner name and it does not line up. My client's loan is not HUD, and we are 3 days away from final approval letter.

I will post what I get from BofA as I also copied the management chain on Equator and attached the letter.

Thanks,

Jeff
